Maria Mazzei

BArch, MA

Maria graduated with a degree in Architecture from Simón Bolívar University in Caracas. After graduating, she moved to Spain to complete a Master’s in Interior Design at the University of Salamanca. Once completing her studies, she moved to London to start her professional career.

Her main mentor was Barbara Weiss, for whom she worked for around 12 years on a range of residential projects, including the complete refurbishment of a residential development in Marylebone and several high-end residential refurbishments across London.

The biggest highlight of her career was The Lancasters project while working at Nilsson Architects – a redevelopment of 15 Grade II listed houses into 77 flats. The project involved retaining the entire façades while demolishing and reconfiguring everything between them.

Maria’s key strength lies in her attention to detail to achieve clean designs.

In her (very little) spare time, Maria enjoys visiting art exhibitions and museums. Her favorite holiday destinations are Italy and Spain. Although not particularly green-fingered, she enjoys collecting houseplants.
