Family House, Dulwich

‘Bang for your Buck’ transformation of a town house in Dulwich.
Project completed 2007, Private Client

The house is a typical London Victorian terrace. Working with only a very modest budget, we were tasked with reconfiguring the living accommodation to make better use of the ground floor space and to create a larger area for family and children. Additionally, the garden was not easily accessible and one of the important parts of the brief was to create  more pleasant access.

Given the limited budget, we had to think laterally. Assessing that any significant structural alterations would consume too much of the budget we instead, decided to limit these and to spend the available funds on creating a glazed link between the former kitchen and middle dining room. Although much of the plan stayed the same, the new link, modest in cost, transformed the circulation through the house.
